Timothy, my son, we know that the law is good, if any one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, immoral persons, sodomites, kidnappers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the glorious gospel of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted. I thank him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful by appointing me to his service, though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise as it was in the days of Lot — they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built, but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all — so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back. Remember Lot’s wife. Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it. I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left. The Lord said to his disciples, “This I command you, to love one another. If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you; if they kept my word, they will keep yours also. But all this they will do to you on my account, because they do not know him who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have seen and hated both me and my Father. Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἁγίου Ἱερομάρτυρος Πέτρου, Ἐπισκόπου Ἀλεξανδρείας.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Hieromartyr Peter, Bishop of Alexandria.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Μάλχος ἐν εἰρήνῃ τελειοῦται.	On this day Saint Malchus died in peace.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ὅσιος Καρίων ἐν εἰρήνῃ τελειοῦται.	On this day devout Saint Carion died in peace.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Ἑρμογένης, Ἐπίσκοπος Ἀκραγαντίνων, ἐν εἰρήνῃ τελειοῦται.	On this day Saint Hermogenes, Bishop of Agrigentum, died in peace.

On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyr Alexander of Corinth; and also our devout father Gregory who lived as an ascetic in Golden Rock, who was originally from the East and then came and lived in Golden Rock.

Κανόνας Νηστείας	Fasting Rule
Κατάλυσις ἰχθύος.	Fish: fish, oil and wine are allowed. Refrain from meat, dairy and eggs.
Εἶναι ἡ νηστεία πρὸ τῶν Χριστουγέννων.	It is the Christmas fast.
