Ἀδελφοί, γνωρίζω ὑμῖν τὴν χάριν τοῦ Θεοῦ τὴν δεδομένην ἐν ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Μακεδονίας, ὅτι ἐν πολλῇ δοκιμῇ θλίψεως ἡ περισσεία τῆς χαρᾶς αὐτῶν καὶ ἡ κατὰ βάθος πτωχεία αὐτῶν ἐπερίσσευσεν εἰς τὸν πλοῦτον τῆς ἁπλότητος αὐτῶν· ὅτι κατὰ δύναμιν, μαρτυρῶ, καὶ ὑπὲρ δύναμιν, αὐθαίρετοι, μετὰ πολλῆς παρακλήσεως δεόμενοι ἡμῶν τὴν χάριν καὶ τὴν κοινωνίαν τῆς διακονίας τῆς εἰς τοὺς ἁγίους, καὶ οὐ καθὼς ἠλπίσαμεν, ἀλλ᾽ ἑαυτοὺς ἔδωκαν πρῶτον τῷ Κυρίῳ καὶ ἡμῖν διὰ θελήματος Θεοῦ.	Brethren, we want you to know about the grace of God which has been shown in the churches of Macedonia, for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of liberality on their part. For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own free will, begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints — and this, not as we expected, but first they gave themselves to the Lord and to us by the will of God. At that time, Jesus called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal. And he said to them, “Take nothing for your journey, no staff, nor bag, nor bread, nor money; and do not have two tunics. And whatever house you enter, stay there, and from there depart. And wherever they do not receive you, when you leave that town shake off the dust from your feet as a testimony against them.” And they departed and went through the villages, preaching the gospel and healing everywhere. Brethren, all the saints through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received their dead by resurrection. Some were tortured, refusing to accept release, that they might rise again to a better life. Others suffered mocking and scourging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were killed with the sword; they went about in skins of sheep and goats, destitute, afflicted, ill-treated — of whom the world was not worthy — wandering over deserts and mountains and in dens and caves of the earth. And all these, though well attested by their faith, did not receive what was promised, since God had foreseen something better for us, that apart from us they should not be made perfect. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin that easily distracts, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ὁσίου Πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ θαυματουργοῦ Λαζάρου, τοῦ ἐν τῷ Γαλησίῳ ὄρει ἀσκήσαντος.	On this day we also commemorate our devout father Lazaros the Wonder-worker, who lived as an ascetic on Mount Galesion.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῶν ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Μελασίππου, Κασσίνης καὶ Ἀντωνίου.	On this day we commemorate the holy Martyrs Melasippus, Cassiani, and Anthony.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῶν ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Αὔκτου, Ταυρίωνος καὶ Θεσσαλονίκης.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyrs Auktos, Taurion, and Thessaloniki.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἁγίου Μάρτυρος Ἀθηνοδώρου.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyr Athenodoros.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Μάρτυς Ἀλέξανδρος, ὁ ἐκ Θεσσαλονίκης, ξίφει τελειοῦται.	On this day, the holy Martyr Alexander from Thessaloniki died by the sword.
Ταῖς τῶν Ἁγίων σου πρεσβείαις, ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. Ἀμήν.	By the intercessions of Your Saints, O God, have mercy on us. Amen.
