Σὲ τὴν μεσιτεύσασαν τὴν σωτηρίαν τοῦ γένους ἡμῶν, ἀνυμνοῦμεν Θεοτόκε Παρθένε· ἐν τῇ σαρκὶ γὰρ τῇ ἐκ σοῦ προσληφθείσῃ, ὁ Υἱός σου καὶ Θεὸς ἡμῶν τὸ διὰ σταυροῦ καταδεξάμενος πάθος, ἐλυτρώσατο ἡμᾶς, ἐκ φθορᾶς ὡς φιλάνθρωπος.	Virgin Theotokos, we sing hymns extolling you, through whom came humanity’s salvation. On this day the luminous and sacred feast day * of the medaled Athletes has become for us a cause of joy. * As we extol them we honor Christ * and glorify Him, for He is our God Most High. [SD]

O Christ, illumine my mind, with the glowing light of the contests of brave Arethas and all the Saints who competed along with him. That steadfast man was the first of all of them, and he cheerfully did battle with those who denied the incarnation of You, who were supernaturally incarnate and born, in order to rescue us from error, and to show all who wish it the inerrant path of martyrdom. The holy Athletes took that path, extolling You, who are our God Most High. [SD]

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, of the holy Great-martyr Arethas and his companions, whose memory we observe; and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
