In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Orbiting the throne of the all-holy Godhead, * Thrones and Cherubim, Principalities, Dominions * and all the rest of the heavenly hierarchies * are glowing brightly and most sacredly. [SD]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

For the Martyrs.

Ζέσει τῆς Χριστοῦ, πυρούμενοι ἀγάπης, ἄφλεκτοι πυρός, διέμειναν ἐν μέσῳ, οἱ Ἀθληταὶ πυρπολήσαντες τὰς ἀκάνθας, τῆς δυσσεβείας, θείᾳ χάριτι.

On fire with the ardor of love for Christ the Savior, * the Martyrs were not burned when thrown into the fire, * but rather they by divine grace consumed with fire * the thorny brambles of impiety. [SD]

Ὦ Τριὰς ἁπλῆ, Μονὰς ἀρχικωτάτη, λύτρωσαι πυρός, σοὺς δούλους τοῦ ἀσβέστου, ταῖς ἱκεσίαις τῶν θείων σου Ἀσωμάτων, καὶ Βασιλείας καταξίωσον.

Simple Trinity, and Unity, we pray You, * Ruler most-supreme, deliver us Your servants * from the unquenchable fire; and grant us Your kingdom, * by the entreaties of Your bodiless hosts. [SD]

As God’s Chief Commanders and ministers of His divine glory, guides of humanity and leaders of the Angels, pray for what will benefit us and for great mercy, as Chief Commanders of the Bodiless Hosts. [SD]

When they deliver you up, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child, and children will rise against parents and have them put to death; and you will be hated by all for my name’s sake. Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

Εἴδομεν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ἐλάβομεν Πνεῦμα ἐπουράνιον, εὕρομεν πίστιν ἀληθῆ, ἀδιαίρετον Τριάδα προσκυνοῦντες· αὕτη γὰρ ἡμᾶς ἔσωσεν.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, the holy and glorious Great-martyr Theodore the General, the transfer of whose holy Relic we celebrate, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.

Fasting Rule

Κατάλυσις ἰχθύος.

Fish: fish, oil and wine are allowed. Refrain from meat, dairy and eggs.

Εἶναι ἡ νηστεία τῶν ἁγ. Ἀποστόλων.

It is the fast of the holy Apostles.
