Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ τὸν Ἀπολλὼ εἶναι ἐν Κορίνθῳ Παῦλον διελθόντα τὰ ἀνωτερικὰ μέρη ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ἔφεσον· καὶ εὑρὼν μαθητάς τινας εἶπε πρὸς αὐτούς· εἰ Πνεῦμα Ἅγιον ἐλάβετε πιστεύσαντες; οἱ δὲ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν· ἀλλ᾿ οὐδὲ εἰ Πνεῦμα Ἅγιόν ἐστιν ἠκούσαμεν. εἶπέ τε πρὸς αὐτούς· εἰς τί οὖν ἐβαπτίσθητε; οἱ δὲ εἶπον· εἰς τὸ Ἰωάννου βάπτισμα. εἶπε δὲ Παῦλος· Ἰωάννης μὲν ἐβάπτισε βάπτισμα μετανοίας, τῷ λαῷ λέγων εἰς τὸν ἐρχόμενον μετ᾿ αὐτὸν ἵνα πιστεύσωσι, τοῦτ᾿ ἔστιν εἰς τὸν Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν. ἀκούσαντες δὲ ἐβαπτίσθησαν εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Κυρίου Ἰησοῦ. καὶ ἐπιθέντος αὐτοῖς τοῦ Παύλου τὰς χεῖρας ἦλθε τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς, ἐλάλουν τε γλώσσαις καὶ προεφήτευον. ἦσαν δὲ οἱ πάντες ἄνδρες ὡσεὶ δεκαδύο. Εἰσελθὼν δὲ εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν ἐπαρρησιάζετο ἐπὶ μῆνας τρεῖς διαλεγόμενος καὶ πείθων τὰ περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ Θεοῦ.	In those days, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve of them in all. And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, arguing and pleading about the kingdom of God. [RSV]

Λέγει αὐτῷ Φίλιππος· Κύριε, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα καὶ ἀρκεῖ ἡμῖν. λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· τοσοῦτον χρόνον μεθ᾽ ὑμῶν εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωκάς με, Φίλιππε; ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμὲ ἑώρακε τὸν πατέρα· καὶ πῶς σὺ λέγεις, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα; οὐ πιστεύεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστι; τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐγὼ λαλῶ ὑμῖν, ἀπ᾽ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐ λαλῶ· ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ὁ ἐν ἐμοὶ μένων αὐτὸς ποιεῖ τὰ ἔργα. πιστεύετέ μοι ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν.	The Lord said to his disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And where I am going you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me.” [RSV]

Τῇ ΚΒʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τοῦ Ἁγίου Μάρτυρος Βασιλίσκου.	On May 22 we commemorate the holy Martyr Basiliskos, nephew of Saint Theodore the Tyro.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῆς Ἁγίας καὶ Οἰκομενικῆς Δευτέρας Συνόδου, τῆς συγκροτηθείσης ἐν ἔτει τπαʹ (381), τῆς καθελούσης τὸν Μακεδόνιον, λέγοντα μὴ εἶναι Θεὸν τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Second Ecumenical Synod, which convened in the year 381, and which deposed Macedonius who said that the Holy Spirit was not God.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Μάρκελλος, μόλυβδον κοχλάζοντα ποτισθείς, τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Marcellus died when he was made to swallow molten lead.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Κόδρος, ὑπὸ ἵππων συρόμενος, τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Codrus died when he was dragged by horses.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Ἰωάννης ὁ Βλαδίμηρος, ὁ βασιλεὺς καὶ θαυματουργός, ξίφει τελειοῦται.	Saint John Vladimir, the king and wonder-worker, died by the sword.
Ὁ Ἅγιος νέος Ἱερομάρτυρυς Ζαχαρίας, ὁ Προυσαεύς, ἀγχόνῃ τελειοῦται.	The new holy Hieromartyr Zacharias of Prusa died by hanging.
Ταῖς αὐτῶν ἁγίαις πρεσβείαις, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς. Ἀμήν.	By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us. Amen.
