Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, Παῦλος καὶ Βαρνάβας διέτριβον ἐν Ἀντιοχείᾳ διδάσκοντες καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι μετὰ καὶ ἑτέρων πολλῶν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Κυρίου. Μετὰ δέ τινας ἡμέρας εἶπε Παῦλος πρὸς Βαρνάβαν· ἐπιστρέψαντες δὴ ἐπισκεψώμεθα τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμῶν κατὰ πᾶσαν πόλιν ἐν αἷς κατηγγείλαμεν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Κυρίου, πῶς ἔχουσι. Βαρνάβας δὲ ἐβουλεύσατο συμπαραλαβεῖν τὸν Ἰωάννην τὸν ἐπικαλούμενον Μᾶρκον· Παῦλος δὲ ἠξίου, τὸν ἀποστάντα ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Παμφυλίας καὶ μὴ συνελθόντα αὐτοῖς εἰς τὸ ἔργον, μὴ συμπαραλαβεῖν τοῦτον. ἐγένετο οὖν παροξυσμός, ὥστε ἀποχωρισθῆναι αὐτοὺς ἀπ᾿ ἀλλήλων, τόν τε Βαρνάβαν παραλαβόντα τὸν Μᾶρκον ἐκπλεῦσαι εἰς Κύπρον. Παῦλος δὲ ἐπιλεξάμενος Σίλαν ἐξῆλθε, παραδοθεὶς τῇ χάριτι τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν, διήρχετο δὲ τὴν Συρίαν καὶ Κιλικίαν ἐπιστηρίζων τὰς ἐκκλησίας.	In those days, Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Come, let us return and visit the brethren in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.” And Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. But Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work. And there arose a sharp contention, so that they separated from each other; Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches. [RSV]

Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος πρὸς τοὺς ἐληλυθότας πρὸς αὐτὸν Ἰουδαίους· τὰ πρόβατα τὰ ἐμὰ τῆς φωνῆς μου ἀκούει, κἀγὼ γινώσκω αὐτά, καὶ ἀκολουθοῦσί μοι, κἀγὼ ζωὴν αἰώνιον δίδωμι αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀπόλωνται εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, καὶ οὐχ ἁρπάσει τις αὐτὰ ἐκ τῆς χειρός μου. ὁ πατήρ μου, ὃς δέδωκέ μοι, μείζων πάντων ἐστί, καὶ οὐδεὶς δύναται ἁρπάζειν ἐκ τῆς χειρὸς τοῦ πατρός μου. ἐγὼ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἕν ἐσμεν. Ἐβάστασαν οὖν πάλιν λίθους οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἵνα λιθάσωσιν αὐτόν. ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· πολλὰ καλὰ ἔργα ἔδειξα ὑμῖν ἐκ τοῦ πατρός μου· διὰ ποῖον αὐτῶν ἔργον λιθάζετέ με; ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες· περὶ καλοῦ ἔργου οὐ λιθάζομέν σε, ἀλλὰ περὶ βλασφημίας, καὶ ὅτι σὺ ἄνθρωπος ὢν ποιεῖς σεαυτὸν Θεόν. ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐκ ἔστι γεγραμμένον ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὑμῶν, ἐγὼ εἶπα, θεοί ἐστε; εἰ ἐκείνους εἶπε θεούς, πρὸς οὓς ὁ λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐγένετο, καὶ οὐ δύναται λυθῆναι ἡ γραφή, ὃν ὁ πατὴρ ἡγίασε καὶ ἀπέστειλεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον, ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι βλασφημεῖς, ὅτι εἶπον, υἱὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰμι; εἰ οὐ ποιῶ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρός μου, μὴ πιστεύετέ μοι· εἰ δὲ ποιῶ, κἂν ἐμοὶ μὴ πιστεύητε, τοῖς ἔργοις πιστεύσατε, ἵνα γνῶτε καὶ πιστεύσητε ὅτι ἐν ἐμοὶ ὁ πατὴρ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτῷ.	The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” The Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of these do you stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we stone you but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’ If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken), do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe my works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in him.” [RSV]

Τῇ ΙϚʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τοῦ Ὁσίου Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Θεοδώρου τοῦ Ἡγιασμένου.	On May 16 we commemorate our devout Father Theodore the Sanctified.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἐν Ἁγίοις Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἀλεξάνδρου Ἀρχιεπισκόπου Ἱεροσολύμων.	On this day we commemorate our Father among the Saints Alexander, Archbishop of Jerusalem.
Μνήμη τῶν Ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Αὐδᾶ, Αὐδιησοῦ ἐπισκόπου καὶ τῶν σὺν αὐτοῖς τριάκοντα ὀκτώ, πρεσβυτέρων δέκα ἕξ διακόνων ἐννέα, μοναχῶν ἕξ, καὶ παρθένων ἑπτά.	We also commemorate the holy Martyrs Abdas and Abdiesus the Bishops, and the thirty-eight with them: sixteen priests, nine deacons, six monks, and seven virgins.
Οἱ Ἅγιοι Μάρτυρες Ἰσαάκιος, Συμεὼν καὶ Βαχθισόης πυρὶ τελειοῦνται.	The holy Martyrs Isaakius, Symeon, and Bachthisoes died by fire.
Οἱ Ἅγιοι Ἀββάδες, οἱ ἐν τῇ μονῇ τοῦ Ἁγίου Σάββα, ὑπὸ τῶν Βλεμμύων ξίφει τελειοῦνται.	The holy Fathers of the Monastery of Saint Savas were died by the sword at the hands of the Bedouins.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Παπυλῖνος ξίφει τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Papylinus died by the sword.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Μάρτυς Πέτρος, ὁ ἐν Βλαχέρναις, βουνεύροις τυφθείς, τελειοῦται.	The holy Martyr Peter of Blachernae, died after being lashed with ox-thongs.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Νικόλαος, Πατριάρχης Κωνσταντινουπόλεως, ἐν εἰρήνῃ τελειοῦται.	Saint Nicholas, Patriarch of Constantinople, reposed in peace.
Μνήμη τῆς Ἁγίας Εὐφημίας πλησίον τοῦ νεωρίου λιμένος εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν Δύναμιν.	We also commemorate Saint Euphemia at the Church of the Holy Power near the shipyard harbor.
Ὁ Ἅγιος Νεομάρτυς Νικόλαος ὁ ἐκ Μετσόβου, ὁ ἐκ Τρικκάλοις μαρτυρήσας (τῷ 1617), πυρὶ τελειοῦται.	The holy Neo-martyr Nicholas of Metsovo, who witnessed in Trikkala in 1617, died by fire.
