In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Imprisoned fast in a tomb, * a man of circumscribed body, the God Uncircumscribed, * O Christ, You rose, and You stood, though the doors were shut * amidst Your disciples, Messiah All-Powerful. [TC]

Μακάριοι οἱ δεδιωγμένοι ἕνεκεν δικαιοσύνης, ὅτι αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἡ Βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.

Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [RSV]

Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]

Κατέβαλες ὀφρὺν ἀνόμων Κύριε, καὶ ὕβριν ὑπερήφανον, ἐταπείνωσας, Ἀπόστολον τὸν σόν, δείξας τροπαιοῦχον τῇ δυνάμει σου· σὺ γὰρ ἰσχὺς τῶν ἀσθενούντων, καὶ ἐπανόρθωσις.

Lord, You brought low the scorn of the wicked and put down their prideful arrogance. You revealed Your apostle to be a conqueror by Your might, for You are the strength and restoration of the weak. [OCA]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

Τὸν στέφανον τὸν τῆς ἐλπίδος ἔνδοξε, διʼ οὗ νῦν στεφανούμεθα, ἐν τοῖς λόγοις σου ἐκήρυξας σοφέ, τὸν Δημιουργὸν Μᾶρκε τῆς κτίσεως, τὸν εἰς ἡμῶν δόξαν πλασθέντα, φύσει τοῦ σώματος.

By your words, wise Mark, you preached the Fashioner of creation, the Crown of hope with which we are now crowned, which was fashioned from the nature of the flesh for our glory. [OCA]

Ὁ Πέτρος σε, ὁ κορυφαῖος Ἔνδοξε σαφῶς ἐμυσταγώγησεν, Εὐαγγέλιον συγγράψαι τὸ σεπτόν, δείξας ὑπηρέτην σὲ τῆς χάριτος· σὺ γὰρ ἡμῖν θεογνωσίας, τὸ φῶς ἐξήπλωσας.

The pre-eminent Peter clearly taught you, glorious one, to record spiritually the precious Gospel. He showed you to be a servant of divine grace, for you shed the light of divine knowledge on us. [OCA]

Τὴν Αἴγυπτον, τὴν πρὶν ἐν σκότει Κύριε, Παρθένου Θεομήτορος, κατελάμπρυνας ὡς βρέφος προελθών, ταύτης θριαμβεύσας τὰ σεβάσματα, ταῖς διδαχαῖς τοῦ θεηγόρου, Μάρκου φιλάνθρωπε.

Through the Virgin Mother of God You enlightened Egypt which had been in darkness. You entered it as an infant, O Lord, and reproved its vanity, Lover of mankind, through the teachings of the divinely-spoken Mark. [OCA]

May He who rose from the dead, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, the holy and glorious Apostle and Evangelist Mark, whose memory we celebrate, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
