In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Μακάριοι οἱ πενθοῦντες, ὅτι αὐτοὶ παρακληθήσονται.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. [RSV]

When our primal father Adam disobeyed Your divine command, O Christ, You expelled him from Paradise. But when the faithful Robber while on the cross confessed You to be Lord, You restored him there, as he cried to You: “O Savior, when You come in Your kingdom, remember me.” [SD]

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]

Ὡς μεσίτης παλαιᾶς, καὶ τῆς καινῆς γινόμενος, θεῖε Βαπτιστά, παλαιωθέντα με πταίσμασιν, ἀνακαινίσας δίδου, σαῖς ἱκεσίαις βαίνειν ἀσφαλῶς, πρός, μετανοίας τρίβους Πανεύφημε, εἰσαγούσας, καλῶς, πρὸς Βασιλείαν Χριστοῦ.

O all-lauded holy Baptist, as the Prophet * in the middle of the two God-given Testaments, Old and New, * renew me who became old * because of sins, and pray that I may walk * on the paths of repentance unerringly, * which by your prayers will indeed lead me to the Kingdom of Christ. [SD]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

Τὸν ἀγῶνα τὸν καλόν, ἀγωνισάμενοι, γενναῖοι Ἀθληταί, μυρίους πόνους ἠνέγκατε, καὶ διὰ τοῦτο πάντα πόνον κουφίζετε διηνεκῶς, καὶ πνευμάτων λώβην διώκετε· ὅθεν πίστει ὑμᾶς Ἅγιοι δοξάζομεν.

Brave and holy Athletes, as you fought the good fight * you were tortured and endured myriad pains and suffering, * and now to us who praise you * you ever give relief from every pain, * and the unclean spirits you drive away. * And therefore, O Saints, we glorify you faithfully. [SD]

The single God in three hypostases is truly * light and life and omnific Monad, which we glorify. * For Father Son and Spirit * the single and cohesive Lord of all * and Creator and Master of the universe * is known to be one God in persons three. [SD]

Virgin Mother, I entreat you to take pity * on me who continually sin and thus anger God. * O pure one, make me better, * since you are good, and guide me to repent, * so that I may escape future punishments * and may ever extol the power of your intercession. [SD]

Μεγάλα τὰ τῆς πίστεως κατορθώματα! Ἐν τῇ πηγῇ τῆς φλογός, ὡς ἐπὶ ὕδατος ἀναπαύσεως, ὁ ἅγιος Μάρτυς Θεόδωρος ἠγάλλετο· πυρὶ γὰρ ὁλοκαυτωθείς, ὡς ἄρτος ἡδύς, τῇ Τριάδι προσήνεκται. Ταῖς αὐτοῦ ἱκεσίαις, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς.

Magnificent are the accomplishments of faith! The holy Martyr Theodore greatly rejoiced as he stood in the fountain of fire as if beside the still waters. He was consumed by fire and offered like sweet bread to the Trinity. At his entreaties, O Christ God, save our souls. [SD]

O Prophet of God and Forerunner of grace divine, since we have obtained your Head from beneath the earth, as if a most sacred rose, we are receiving the healings continually. And once again, as formerly, you are preaching repentance throughout the world. [SD]

Timothy, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier on service gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to satisfy the one who enlisted him. An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. Think over what I say, for the Lord will grant you understanding in everything. Remember Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, descended from David, as preached in my gospel, the gospel for which I am suffering and wearing fetters like a criminal. But the word of God is not fettered. Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain salvation in Christ Jesus with its eternal glory. [RSV]

They will receive the greater condemnation.” He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury; and he saw a poor widow put in two copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all the living that she had.” Having said this, he proclaimed, “He who has ears to hear let him hear.” [RSV]

Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

Εἴδομεν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ἐλάβομεν Πνεῦμα ἐπουράνιον, εὕρομεν πίστιν ἀληθῆ, ἀδιαίρετον Τριάδα προσκυνοῦντες· αὕτη γὰρ ἡμᾶς ἔσωσεν.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, the holy and glorious Great-martyr Theodore the Tyro, whose memory we celebrate; and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.

Dairy: Dairy, eggs, fish, oil and wine are allowed. Refrain from meat.
