Let us honor the Cross of the Lord with solemn praise. * Let us sing hymns extolling His holy burial. * Let us highly glorify His resurrection from the dead. * For, being God, He raised the dead from the graves with himself. * He shined light on those in Hades, annihilating the power of death and the devil’s might. Glory.

Lord, You who deadened death were described as being dead. You who emptied tombs had been buried in a tomb. Above, soldiers guarded the sepulcher; below, You resurrected the dead of all ages. Lord almighty and incomprehensible, glory to You! [GOASD]

Resurrectional Evlogetaria.

Mode pl. 1.

Blessed are You, O Lord, teach me Your statutes.

When the hosts of the Angels saw how You were accounted among the dead, they all marveled. You, O Savior, are the One who destroyed the might of death; and when You arose You raised Adam with yourself and from Hades liberated everyone. [SD]

“Why do you mingle the ointments with your tears full of pity, O women disciples?” Thus the Angel who was shining in the tomb cried to the myrrh-bearing women. “See for yourselves the empty tomb and understand, that the Savior has risen from the sepulcher.”

Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomb lamenting. But the Angel appeared to them and uttered, “The time for lamentation has ended; weep no more. Go announce the Resurrection to the Apostles.”

When the myrrh-bearing women had come with their spices to Your sepulcher, O Savior, they heard the voice of an Angel clearly speaking to them, “Why do you account among the dead the One who lives? For as God, He has risen from the sepulcher.”

We bow down in worship to the Father and His Son and the Holy Spirit, the Holy Trinity, one in essence; and we cry aloud with the Seraphim: Holy, Holy, Holy are You, O Lord.

Master Christ, our ancestor in the garden ate forbidden fruit, * and he slipped and fell into decay and death. * Now he is raised to life again, by Your Passion, O Lord. [SD]

Master Christ and Life itself, You went down to Hades and became * the destruction of the one destroying us. * You have gushed forth resurrection by dying for us. [SD]

O Lord, the River of goodness, how can You come to River Jordan, requesting the waters of incorruption? You do so in order to give drink to those who succumbed to the serpent's envy and sank into corruption through wrong eating. [GOASD]
