Διαμαρτύρομαι οὖν ἐγὼ ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ τοῦ Κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, τοῦ μέλλοντος κρίνειν ζῶντας καὶ νεκροὺς κατὰ τὴν ἐπιφάνειαν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν βασιλείαν αὐτοῦ, κήρυξον τὸν λόγον, ἐπίστηθι εὐκαίρως ἀκαίρως, ἔλεγξον, ἐπιτίμησον, παρακάλεσον, ἐν πάσῃ μακροθυμίᾳ καὶ διδαχῇ. ἔσται γὰρ καιρὸς ὅτε τῆς ὑγιαινούσης διδασκαλίας οὐκ ἀνέξονται, ἀλλὰ κατὰ τὰς ἐπιθυμίας τὰς ἰδίας ἑαυτοῖς ἐπισωρεύσουσι διδασκάλους κνηθόμενοι τὴν ἀκοήν, καὶ ἀπὸ μὲν τῆς ἀληθείας τὴν ἀκοὴν ἀποστρέψουσιν, ἐπὶ δὲ τοὺς μύθους ἐκτραπήσονται.	Timothy, my son, all scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. I charge you in the presence of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. At that time, Jesus came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man, and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village; and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands upon him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men; but they look like trees, walking.” Then again he laid his hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and saw everything clearly. Ἀδελφοί, τοιοῦτος ἡμῖν ἔπρεπεν ἀρχιερεύς, ὅσιος, ἄκακος, ἀμίαντος, κεχωρισμένος ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτωλῶν καὶ ὑψηλότερος τῶν οὐρανῶν γενόμενος, ὃς οὐκ ἔχει καθ᾽ ἡμέραν ἀνάγκην, ὥσπερ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς, πρότερον ὑπὲρ τῶν ἰδίων ἁμαρτιῶν θυσίας ἀναφέρειν, ἔπειτα τῶν τοῦ λαοῦ· τοῦτο γὰρ ἐποίησεν ἐφάπαξ ἑαυτὸν ἀνενέγκας. ὁ νόμος γὰρ ἀνθρώπους καθίστησιν ἀρχιερεῖς ἔχοντας ἀσθένειαν, ὁ λόγος δὲ τῆς ὁρκωμοσίας τῆς μετὰ τὸν νόμον υἱὸν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα τετελειωμένον. Brethren, it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, unstained, separated from sinners, exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people; he did this once for all when he offered up himself. Indeed, the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect for ever. Now the point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, a minister in the sanctuary and the true tent which is set up not by man but by the Lord. The Lord said, “I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He who is a hireling and not a shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf snatches them and scatters them. He flees because he is a hireling and cares nothing for the sheep. I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me, as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, that are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will heed my voice. So there shall be one flock, one shepherd.” [RSV]

Τῇ ΙϚʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τοῦ ἁγίου καὶ ἐνδόξου Προφήτου Ἀγγαίου.	On December 16, we commemorate the holy and glorious Prophet Haggai.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἁγίου Μάρτυρος Μαρίνου.	On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyr Marinos.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ οἱ ἅγιοι Πρόβος (ἢ Πρόμος) καὶ Ἱλαρίων πυρὶ τελειοῦνται.	On this day, Saints Probus (or Promus) and Hilarion died by fire.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ἐν ἁγίοις Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Μοδέστου, Ἀρχιεπισκόπου Ἱεροσολύμων.	On this day we also commemorate our father among the saints Modestos, Archbishop of Jerusalem.
Τἀ ἐγκαίνια τοῦ Ναοῦ τοῦ ἁγίου Μάρτυρος Χριστοφόρου, πλησίον τοῦ ἁγίου Πολυεύκτου.	We remember the consecration of the church of the holy Martyr Christopher, next to St. Polyeuctos.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῆς ἁγίας καὶ Θαυματουργοῦ Θεοφανοῦς τῆς βασιλίσσης, συζύγου γενομένης Λέοντος τοῦ σοφωτάτου βασιλέως.	On this day we also commemorate the wonder-working Saint Theofano, the Empress, wife of Emperor Leo the Wise.
Μνήμη τῶν ἐν ἁγίοις Πατέρων ἡμῶν Νικολάου, Πατριάρχου Κωνσταντινουπόλεως [τοῦ Χρυσοβέργη], καὶ Μέμνωνος Ἀρχιεπισκόπου Ἐφέσου.	We also commemorate our father among the saints Nicholas [Chrysovergis], Patriarch of Constantinople; and Memnon, Archbishop of Ephesus.
Ταῖς αὐτῶν ἁγίαις πρεσβείαις, ὁ Θεός, ἐλέησον καὶ σῶσον ἡμᾶς. Ἀμήν.	By their holy intercessions, O God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen.
