In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. [RSV]

Μνήσθητί μου, ὁ Θεὸς ὁ Σωτήρ μου, ὅταν ἔλθῃς ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου, καὶ σῶσόν με, ὡς μόνος φιλάνθρωπος.

Like the robber I entreat You, O my Savior, * when You come in Your kingdom, remember me, * O Lord, and save me, O only benevolent God. [SD]

Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.

Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]

Ὁ λαμπρύνας, τῶν Ἀγγέλων τὰς χορείας, ταῖς ἐκείνων Χριστὲ παρακλήσεσι, τὸ ὀπτικόν μου, τῆς καρδίας φώτισον.

You make brilliant * all the orders of the Angels. * At their earnest entreaties on my behalf, * also enlighten the eyes of my heart, O Christ. [SD]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

Πᾶσαν πεῖραν, ἀλγεινῶν ὑπενεγκόντες, Ἀθλοφόροι τὰ ἄλγη καὶ τραύματα, τὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων, ἀεὶ θεραπεύετε.

For enduring * the excruciating torments, * you, O Martyrs, were given the grace from God * to heal our every trauma and tormenting pain. [SD]

Τὴν Τριάδα, τὴν ἁγίαν προσκυνοῦμεν, ὑμνουμένην Ἀγγέλων στρατεύμασιν, αὐτῇ βοῶντες· Σῶσον τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν.

The angelic * hosts on high ever extol You. * We on earth sing Your glory and worship You, * and pray: O Holy Trinity, save our souls. [SD]

Ἐν προσευχαῖς γρηγορῶν, ταῖς τῶν θαυμάτων ἐργασίαις ἐγκαρτερῶν, ἐπωνυμίαν ἐκτήσω τὰ κατορθώματα· ἀλλὰ πρέσβευε Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ, Πάτερ Γρηγόριε, φωτίσαι τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν, μὴ ποτε ὑπνώσωμεν, ἐν ἁμαρτίαις εἰς θάνατον.

By your accomplishments, you earned the name that you bore, for you were vigilant in prayer and diligent in working miracles. Therefore, holy father Gregory, intercede with Christ our God, that He illumine our souls, lest we fall asleep in sin unto death. [SD]

As God’s Chief Commanders and ministers of His divine glory, guides of humanity and leaders of the Angels, pray for what will benefit us and for great mercy, as Chief Commanders of the Bodiless Hosts. [SD]

Brethren, to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. [RSV]

Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, εἰσῆλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς οἶκόν τινος τῶν ἀρχόντων τῶν Φαρισαίων σαββάτῳ φαγεῖν ἄρτον. At that time, Jesus went to dine on the Sabbath at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees. And he said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” When one of those who sat at table with him heard this, he said to him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” [RSV]

Hymn to the Theotokos.

Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

Εἴδομεν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ἐλάβομεν Πνεῦμα ἐπουράνιον, εὕρομεν πίστιν ἀληθῆ, ἀδιαίρετον Τριάδα προσκυνοῦντες· αὕτη γὰρ ἡμᾶς ἔσωσεν.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and our Father among the Saints Gregory the Wonderworker, Bishop of Neocaesarea, whose memory we celebrate; and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.

Fasting Rule

Κατάλυσις ἰχθύος.

Fish: fish, oil and wine are allowed. Refrain from meat, dairy and eggs.

Εἶναι ἡ νηστεία πρὸ τῶν Χριστουγέννων.

It is the Christmas fast.
