Ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου μνήσθητι ἡμῶν Κύριε, ὅταν ἔλθῃς ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου. Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι, ὅτι αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἡ Βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.

In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]

Μακάριοι οἱ πενθοῦντες, ὅτι αὐτοὶ παρακληθήσονται.

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Μακάριοι οἱ πρᾳεῖς, ὅτι αὐτοὶ κληρονομήσουσι τὴν γῆν.

Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. [RSV]

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. [RSV]

Ἀθετήσαντα Χριστέ, τὴν ἐντολήν σου, τὸν προπάτορα Ἀδάμ, τοῦ Παραδείσου ἐξώρισας, τὸν δὲ Λῃστὴν Οἰκτίρμον, ὁμολογήσαντά σε ἐν Σταυρῷ, ἐν αὐτῷ εἰσῴκισας κράζοντα· Μνήσθητί μου Σωτήρ, ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου.

When our primal father Adam disobeyed Your divine command, O Christ, You expelled him from Paradise. But when the faithful Robber while on the cross confessed You to be Lord, You restored him there, as he cried to You: “O Savior, when You come in Your kingdom, remember me.” [SD]

Οἱ καλάμῳ τοῦ Σταυροῦ, ἐκ τοῦ βυθοῦ, τῆς ἀγνωσίας τοὺς λαούς, ἀναγαγόντες Ἀπόστολοι, τὴν τῶν Ἑλλήνων πλάνην, ἀπεμειώσατε ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς, ἀπλανεῖς σωτῆρες γενόμενοι, τῶν πιστῶν ἀληθῶς· ὅθεν μακαρίζεσθε.

O Apostles, with the Cross as if a fishing rod * you drew the peoples up from the deep sea of ignorance, * and you greatly diminished * on earth the error of the pagan Greeks. * For believers you became inerrant guides * and saviors indeed. * And therefore we now call you blest. [SD]

Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.

O Apostles, you became like mystic rays * and illustrious torches of Christ the Sun of righteousness, * and you greatly diminished * the darkness of impiety and led * all the peoples of the world to the light * of the knowledge of God. * Therefore we now honor you. [SD]

Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Τῶν βασάνων τὴν πυράν, καθυπομείναντες, ἐξ ὕψους Ἀθληταί, χάριτος δρόσον ἐδέξασθε, καὶ τῶν βροτῶν τὰ πάθη, ὡς τοῦ Χριστοῦ θεράποντες ἀεί, εὐσθενῶς σοφοὶ θεραπεύετε· ὅθεν πίστει ὑμᾶς, Ἅγιοι γεραίρομεν.

Holy Athletes, you endured the burning fire * of the tortures and received from on high the dew of grace divine; * and as the faithful servants * of Christ now you mightily provide * cures and remedies for all human suffering. * Therefore, wise Saints of God, * we believers honor you. [SD]

To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we proclaim, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man mature in Christ Jesus. At that time, Jesus was casting out a demon that was dumb; when the demon had gone out, the dumb man spoke, and the people marveled. But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of demons”; while others, to test him, sought from him a sign from heaven. But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and a divided household falls. And if Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your sons cast them out? Therefore they shall be your judges. But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out demons, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace; but when one stronger than he assails him and overcomes him, he takes away his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoil. He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters.” [RSV]

Hymn to the Theotokos.

Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and the holy hieromartyr Zenobius and his sister Zenobia, whose memory we observe, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
