Brethren, Christ is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. And you, who once were estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him, provided that you continue in the fight, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ μαθηταῖς· αἰτεῖτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν, ζητεῖτε, καὶ εὑρήσετε, κρούετε, καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν· πᾶς γὰρ ὁ αἰτῶν λαμβάνει καὶ ὁ ζητῶν εὑρίσκει καὶ τῷ κρούοντι ἀνοιχθήσεται. τίνα δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν τὸν πατέρα αἰτήσει ὁ υἱὸς ἄρτον, μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; ἢ καὶ ἰχθύν, μὴ ἀντὶ ἰχθύος ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; ἢ καὶ ἐὰν αἰτήσῃ ᾠόν, μὴ ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ σκορπίον; εἰ οὖν ὑμεῖς, ὑπάρχοντες πονηροί, οἴδατε δόματα ἀγαθὰ διδόναι τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὁ πατὴρ ὁ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ δώσει πνεῦμα ἀγαθὸν τοῖς αἰτοῦσιν αὐτόν;	The Lord said to his disciples, “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the good Spirit to those who ask him!” [RSV]

Τῇ ΚΘʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τῆς ἁγίας Ὁσιομάρτυρος Ἀνανστασίας τῆς Ῥωμαίας.	On October 29, we commemorate the holy monastic martyr Anastasia the Roman.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τοῦ ὁσίου Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἀβραμίου, καὶ Μαρίας τῆς ἀνεψίας αὐτοῦ.	On this day we commemorate our devout father Abramius and his niece Maria.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῶν ἁγίων Μαρτύρων Κυρίλλου, Μίνη καὶ Μιναίου.	On this day we commemorate the holy martyrs Cyril, Menas and Menaeus.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ ἅγιος Σάβας ὁ Στρατηλάτης, ἔνθεν κἀκεῖθεν κεντηθείς, τελειοῦται.	On this day St. Savas the Commander died when he was run through from front and behind.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῆς ὁσίας Μητρὸς ἡμῶν Ἄννης, τῆς μετονομασθείσης Εὐφημιανός.	On this day we commemorate our devout mother Anna who was known as Euphemianus.
Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ μνήμη τῆς ἁγίας Μάρτυρος Μελιτινῆς.	On this day we commemorate the holy martyr Melitene.
Μνήμη τοῦ ἁγίου νέου Ἱερομάρτυρος Ἀθανασίου, τοῦ ἐκ Σπάρτης τῆς Ἀτταλείας καταγομένου, ἐν Μουντανίοις δὲ μαρτυρήσαντος ἐν ἔτει ͵αχνγʹ (1653).	We commemorate the holy new hieromartyr Athanasius of Attaleia, Sparta, who witnessed in Mountania in the year 1653.
Μνήμη τοῦ νέου ὁσιομάτυρος Τιμοθέου τοῦ Ἐσφιγμενίτου.	We also commemorate the new monastic martyr Timothy, a monk of Esfigmenou Monastery (on Mt. Athos).
