Ὡς ἐλαία κατάκαρπος ἀνεβλάστησαας, ἐν ταῖς αὐλαῖς τοῦ Κυρίου Σοφία Μάρτυς σεμνή, καὶ προσήγαγες Χριστῷ καρπὸν ἡδύτατον, τοὺς τῆς νηδύος σου βλαστούς, διʼ ἀγώνων ἱερῶν, Ἀγάπην τε καὶ Ἐλπίδα, καὶ τὴν θεόφρονα Πίστιν· μεθʼ ὧν δυσώπει ὑπὲρ πάντων ἡμῶν. Ἐν Παραδείσῳ με δεινῶς πεπτωκότα, τοῦ βροτοκτόνου τῇ πικρᾷ συμβουλίᾳ, ἐν τῷ Κρανίῳ πάλιν ἐξανέστησας Χριστέ, ξύλῳ ἰασάμενος, τὴν τοῦ ξύλου κατάραν, κτείνας τὸν ἀπάτῃ με, θανατώσαντα ὄφιν, καὶ ἐδωρήσω θείαν μοι ζωήν. I had a fatal fall in Eden by heeding * the poison counsel of the murderous devil. * But then You resurrected me on Calvary, O Christ. * By a tree you healed the curse of the tree, O my Savior, and you killed the serpent fiend who had killed me by deception. But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise replied, ‘Perhaps there will not be enough for us and for you; go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut. They kindled the light of true faith in God in the hearts of the faithful, they publicly cried out, “Greatest is the God, who was crucified of His own will and who rose on the third day! Ἡ ἐξομολόγησις αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ γῆς καὶ οὐρανοῦ. καὶ ὑψώσει κέρας λαοῦ αὐτοῦ.	His thanksgiving is in earth and heaven. And He shall exalt the horn of His people.

Ἄσατε τῷ Κυρίῳ ᾆσμα καινόν, ἡ αἴνεσις αὐτοῦ ἐν ἐκκλησίᾳ ὁσίων.	Sing to the Lord a new song, His praise in the assembly of His holy ones.

Αἱ ὑψώσεις τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐν τῷ λάρυγγι αὐτῶν, καὶ ῥομφαῖαι δίστομοι ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν.	The high praise of God shall be in their mouth and a two-edged sword in their hand.
Τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἐκδίκησιν ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, ἐλεγμοὺς ἐν τοῖς λαοῖς.	To deal retribution to the nations, reproving among the peoples.
Τοῦ δῆσαι τοὺς βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἐν πέδαις καὶ τοὺς ἐνδόξους αὐτῶν ἐν χειροπέδαις σιδηραῖς.	To shackle their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron.
Τοῦ ποιῆσαι ἐν αὐτοῖς κρῖμα ἔγγραπτον· δόξα αὕτη ἔσται πᾶσι τοῖς ὁσίοις αὐτοῦ.	To fulfill among them the written judgment: this glory have all His holy ones.

The theological virtues of hope and faith and love * were names the noble sisters had received from their mother. * These holy martyrs never succumbed to threats of the emperor Hadrian. * Disdaining glory and riches they underwent * gruesome torments and a painful death. Today, since the tree of life was discovered in the ground and was raised and lifted up, it verifies the rising of Christ who was crucified on it.
