Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are magnified exceedingly; You clothe Yourself with thanksgiving and majesty, who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a curtain; You are He who covers His upper chambers with water, who makes the clouds His means of approach, who walks on the wings of the winds, who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire. He established the earth on its stable foundation; it shall not be moved unto ages of ages. With bravest faith in the Savior, you fought the foe of God, * O godly-minded Martyr, * very wise St. Nikitas, * with fortitude enduring the tortures and death. * You converted the Goths to faith * in Christ the Master and Maker of all the world. * Now they glorify Him piously. [SD]

Praiseworthy Martyr and athlete, you spoke the word of God * and brought the Goths as first fruits * to Christ to glorify Him. * You died for your belief in the Trinity, * and for this you received the crown. * Now God has made you illustrious, like a star * shining brilliantly throughout the world. We know you as a luminary among Martyrs, O Nikitas, Athlete of Christ. You forfeited the glory of your earthly rank, and with abhorrence for your ancestors’ ungodliness, you smashed their gods; and you triumphantly put the barbaric foes to shame, as you completed your martyrdom for Christ. You became a soldier of God in heaven. And now you implore the Benefactor of all on our behalf, that He take pity on us and that He save our souls. [SD]

The sayings of the Prophets foretold of the holy Tree, through which Adam would be freed from the ancient curse of death. You were victorious and thus lived up to the meaning of your name, O Martyr Nikitas. In the course of your martyrdom, you proclaimed Christ our God, and you confessed Him in the presence of the kings and tyrants. So now, never cease interceding for world peace, and for world leaders who love Christ; and pray to our only benevolent Lord, that He rescue from any looming wrath all those who faithfully observe your memory. The saying of Your Prophet Moses has come to pass, O God. For he said, “You will see your Life hanging before your eyes.” Today, the Cross is elevated, and the world has been liberated from deception and error. Today, the church of Christ’s Resurrection was consecrated, and the ends of the earth are celebrating, offering You praise, as if with David’s cymbals, and saying, “O God, as You are good and humane, You worked salvation in the midst of the earth; for through Your Crucifixion and Resurrection, You have saved us. O Lord almighty, glory to You!” [SD]
