You were instructed in the holy words, O Disciple of the Word. By you, those who tragically once submitted to irrationality became children of light. You cast your holy and sacred nets into the sea of ignorance, and you pulled up the Gentiles who obeyed. With the plow of God, you cultivated minds that had become dry because of deceptive error. You extinguished the fire of paganism, and with the dew of your and cheerful and inspired preaching, you made the erstwhile children of wrath to be sons of God, O Apostle of the Lord, holy Bartholomew. Τῇ αὐτῇ ἡμέρᾳ, ἡ Σύναξις τελεῖται τοῦ Ἀρχαγγέλου Γαβριὴλ ἐν τῷ ᾌδειν.	On this day we commemorate the Synaxis of the Archangel Gabriel in Adein on the Holy Mountain.
