Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, You are magnified exceedingly; You clothe Yourself with thanksgiving and majesty, who cover Yourself with light as with a garment, who stretch out the heavens like a curtain; You are He who covers His upper chambers with water, who makes the clouds His means of approach, who walks on the wings of the winds, who makes His angels spirits and His ministers a flame of fire. If You, O Lord, should mark transgression, O Lord, who would stand? For there is forgiveness with You. [SAAS]

When Myrrh-bearing Women came, O Christ, * early in the morning with ointments and fragrant oils, O Lord, * seeking You who are the life of all the universe, * shedding tears in their love for You, * they heard a young man’s voice * coming from the sepulcher, telling them, “Stop crying now. * But instead rejoice for salvation, * and cry out to all that the Savior * Jesus Christ has risen from the dead indeed.” [SD]

Because of Your law, O Lord, I waited for You; my soul waited for Your word. My soul hopes in the Lord. [SAAS]

For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption; and He shall redeem Israel from all his transgressions. [SAAS]

Lord, You gave us righteous Job as an example of moral strength * and of patience and fortitude, * his virtues and pious words * and his godly actions, * even though he suffered; * and thus, O good One, You instruct * all those who waver when faced with tragedy. * O Jesus, the almighty Savior of our souls, we all glorify * Your benevolent plan, by which * You have saved the entire world. Now that you have been awarded the medal of victory from Christ, entreat Him on behalf of our souls. [SD]

At early dawn the Myrrh-bearing women earnestly came to Your grave. They were seeking You, to anoint Your immaculate body, O Christ. Guard them at all times, this evening and the coming night, from every enemy, from all demonic activity against them, from unprofitable reflections, and from wicked thoughts.

Mode 2.

Resurrectional.

Christ our Savior nailed to the Cross the bond which stood against us, and thus He canceled it; and He destroyed the power of death. We worship His rising on the third day. [GOASD]

For compunction.

Verse: I lift my eyes to You, who dwell in heaven. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hands of their masters, as the eyes of the maidservant look to the hands of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He shall have compassion on us. [SAAS]

With the Publican I cry unto You, O Christ my Savior: Unto me be gracious as You were unto him, and have mercy on me, O God. [SD]

For the Martyrs.

Verse: Have mercy on us, O Lord, have mercy on us, for we are greatly filled with contempt; our soul is greatly filled with it. We are a disgrace to those who prosper, and a contempt to the arrogant. [SAAS]

Since the holy Martyrs are interceding on our behalf and are sending up their praises to Christ, all delusion has ceased and by faith the human race is preserved. [SD]

Why do you mix the ointments with your tears, O women disciples? The stone has been rolled away; the sepulcher is empty. See how corruption has been trampled underfoot by life. See how the seals on the stone obviously bear witness to this. See how stupefied in terror are the guards of the disobedient. Mortal humanity has been saved by the flesh of God, and Hades is lamenting. So joyfully run and say to the Apostles, that Christ who put death to death as the first-born from the dead is going ahead of you into Galilee. [SD]
