For the peace from above and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ τῆς εἰρήνης τοῦ σύμπαντος κόσμου, εὐσταθείας τῶν ἁγίων τοῦ Θεοῦ Ἐκκλησιῶν καὶ τῆς τῶν πάντων ἑνώσεως τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For the peace of the whole world, for the stability of the holy churches of God, and for the unity of all, let us pray to the Lord.

For this holy house and for those who enter it with faith, reverence, and the fear of God, let us pray to the Lord.

For our Archbishop (name), for the honorable presbyterate, for the diaconate in Christ, and for all the clergy and the people, let us pray to the Lord.

Ὑπὲρ τοῦ εὐσεβοῦς ἡμῶν γένους, τοῦ Προέδρου, πάσης ἀρχῆς καὶ ἐξουσίας ἐν τῷ κράτει ἡμῶν, καὶ τοῦ κατὰ ξηράν, θάλασσαν καὶ ἀέρα φιλοχρίστου ἡμῶν στρατοῦ, τοῦ Κυρίου δεηθῶμεν.

For our country, the president, all those in public service, and for our armed forces everywhere, let us pray to the Lord.

For favorable weather, for an abundance of the fruits of the earth, and for peaceful times, let us pray to the Lord.

For those who travel by land, sea, and air, for the sick, the suffering, the captives and for their salvation, let us pray to the Lord.

For our deliverance from all affliction, wrath, danger, and distress, let us pray to the Lord.

Help us, save us, have mercy on us, and protect us, O God, by Your grace.

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

When the women with Mary had come before dawn, and they found that the stone had been rolled away from the sepulcher, they heard from the Angel, “Why do you seek among the dead, as a mortal man, the One who exists in everlasting light? The women bringing ointments came in haste at deep dawn, seeking as day the Sun who was before the sun and yet had set in a sepulcher. They cried to one another, “O friends, come let us anoint with spices the life-bearing yet buried Body, the flesh that raises fallen Adam, lying as it is in the grave. Let us go, let us hurry like the Magi, and adore Him, and offer the ointments, as if gifts, to Him who is wrapped, not in swaddling but grave clothes. And let us weep and cry out, ‘Arise, O Master, who to the fallen grant resurrection.’”

Receiving the grace of the Holy Spirit from on high, O Apostle, you cut through the philosophers’ web of words, and you drew the nations all in your net, and brought them to the Master, O famous Evangelist Mark, as you preached the divine Gospel. [SD]

You became the disciple of Peter, the Paramount Apostle, and along with him you preached Christ the Son of God, and you established on the rock of the truth those who were shaken by error. Establish me also on that rock, and guide the steps of my soul, so that delivered from the snares of the enemy and with nothing to impede me, I may glorify you. For you illumined everyone, O wise Evangelist Mark, as you preached the divine Gospel. [SD]

On April 25 we commemorate the holy Apostle and Evangelist Mark.

On this day we commemorate the consecration of the august shrine of the holy and all-lauded preeminent Apostle Peter.

On this day we also commemorate our father among the saints Macedonios, Patriarch of Constantinople.

Τῇ Παρασκευῇ τῆς Διακαινησίμου, ἑορτάζομεν τὰ ἐγκαίνια τοῦ ναοῦ τῆς ὑπεραγίας Δεσποίνης ἡμῶν καὶ θεομήτορος, τῆς Ζωηφόρου Πηγῆς, ἔτι δὲ καὶ μνείαν ποιούμεθα τῶν ἐν τούτῳ τελεσθέντων ὑπερφυῶν θαυμάτων παρὰ τῆς Θεομήτορος.

On Friday of Bright (i.e. Renewal) Week, we celebrate the dedication of the church of our most-holy Lady Theotokos, namely the church of the Life-bearing Fount. We also remember the ineffable miracles that were performed in it by the Mother of God.

Having beheld the Resurrection of Christ, let us worship the holy Lord Jesus, the only sinless one. Your Cross, O Christ, we venerate, and Your holy Resurrection we praise and glorify. Δεῦτε πόμα πίωμεν καινόν, οὐκ ἐκ πέτρας ἀγόνου τερατουργούμενον, ἀλλʼ ἀφθαρσίας πηγήν, ἐκ τάφου ὀμβρήσαντος Χριστοῦ, ἐν ᾧ στερεούμεθα.

Come and let us drink a new drink, * not one marvelously issuing from a barren rock, * but one that Christ from the tomb * pours out, incorruption’s very source. * For we are established in Him. [GOASD]

Ἐπὶ τῆς θείας φυλακῆς, ὁ θεηγόρος Ἀββακούμ, στήτω μεθʼ ἡμῶν καὶ δεικνύτω, φαεσφόρον Ἄγγελον, διαπρυσίως λέγοντα· Σήμερον σωτηρία τῷ κόσμῳ, ὅτι ἀνέστη Χριστὸς ὡς παντοδύναμος.

Now let Habakkuk as a God-inspired prophet stand with us, * keeping his divine watch, and show us * the angelic messenger, who, shining, utters glowingly, * “Today, for the world is salvation,* because arisen is Christ, being omnipotent.” [GOASD]

Ὀρθρίσωμεν ὄρθρου βαθέος, καὶ ἀντὶ μύρου τὸν ὕμνον, προσοίσωμεν τῷ Δεσπότῃ, καὶ Χριστὸν ὀψόμεθα, δικαιοσύνης ἥλιον, πᾶσι ζωὴν ἀνατέλλοντα.

Arising at dawn very early, * instead of ointment, a hymn let us offer unto the Master, * and then we shall clearly see* Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, * causing true life to arise for all. [GOASD]

Κατῆλθες ἐν τοῖς κατωτάτοις τῆς γῆς, καὶ συνέτριψας μοχλοὺς αἰωνίους, κατόχους πεπεδημένων Χριστέ, καὶ τριήμερος, ὡς ἐκ κήτους Ἰωνᾶς, ἐξανέστης τοῦ τάφου.

You went down to the nether regions of earth, * and You broke apart the bars that forever * were closed on those who were held there, O Christ. * From the sepulcher, * as did Jonah from the whale, * You arose on the third day. [GOASD]

Ὁ Παῖδας ἐκ καμίνου ῥυσάμενος, γενόμενος ἄνθρωπος, πάσχει ὡς θνητός, καὶ διὰ πάθους τὸ θνητόν, ἀφθαρσίας ἐνδύει εὐπρέπειαν, ὁ μόνος εὐλογητὸς τῶν Πατέρων, Θεὸς καὶ ὑπερένδοξος.

The same One who delivered the Lads from fire, becoming a mortal man, * suffers in the flesh; and by His Passion He arrays * mortal nature with majesty, free of all * corruption, the only God of the fathers, * blessed and supremely glorious. [GOASD]

Αἰνοῦμεν, εὐλογοῦμεν καὶ προσκυνοῦμεν τὸν Κύριον.

We praise and we bless and we worship the Lord.

Αὔτη ἡ κλητὴ καὶ ἁγία ἡμέρα, ἡ μία τῶν Σαββάτῳν, ἡ βασιλὶς καὶ κυρία, ἑορτῶν ἑορτή, καὶ πανήγυρίς ἐστι πανηγύρεων, ἐν ᾗ εὐλογοῦμεν Χριστὸν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας.

This is it, the Day which is chosen and holy, * Day One of the Sabbaths. * It is the queen-day, the Lord’s Day, * and the Feast of all feasts, * and the Festival above every festival, * on which we extol Christ and bless Him to the ages. [GOASD]

Christ is the new Pascha, the sacrificial Victim, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world.

Ὢ θείας, ὢ φίλης, ὢ γλυκυτάτης σου φωνῆς· μεθʼ ἡμῶν ἀψευδῶς γάρ, ἐπηγγείλω ἔσεσθαι, μέχρι τερμάτων αἰῶνος Χριστέ· ἣν οἱ πιστοί, ἄγκυραν ἐλπίδος, κατέχοντες ἀγαλλόμεθα.

Divine and beloved and sweetest utterance of Yours! * For You really and truly pledged that You will be with us * unto the end of the age, O Christ. * And we the faithful, clinging to Your promise, * our anchor of hope, rejoice. [SD]

Σήμερον πᾶσα κτίσις ἀγάλλεται καὶ χαίρει, ὅτι Χριστὸς ἀνέστη, καὶ ἅδης ἐσκυλεύθη.

Today creation all is exultant and rejoices, for Christ has arisen, and Hades was despoiled.

Ὦ Πάσχα τὸ μέγα, καὶ ἱερώτατον, Χριστέ· ὦ σοφία καὶ Λόγε, τοῦ Θεοῦ καὶ δύναμις· δίδου ἡμῖν ἐκτυπώτερον, σοῦ μετασχεῖν, ἐν τῇ ἀνεσπέρῳ ἡμέρᾳ τῆς Βασιλείας σου.

O Pascha, the great and most sacred Passover, O Christ, * You the wisdom and Logos and the power of God: * Grant that we may more distinctly partake of You * on that day that has no evening in Your kingly rule. [SD]

Pure Maiden, we know that the holy water of your Spring, * more than all other water, is most excellent indeed, * for it pours forth supernaturally, * and it relieves us of serious illness, * clearly restoring good health to our souls. [SD]

Behold, we all see now the new Siloam of your Spring, * which, O Virgin, delivers people from infirmities. * Eyes of a man who was blind are restored. * We, in addition to life, are receiving * good health and vigor continually. [SD]

All you who are seeking your health now run to the Spring. * For the grace of the Virgin does within the water dwell. * Greatly rejoice, O believers, and exult, * for you will have the appropriate answer * to your requests in her sacred shrine. [SD]

Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐπὶ ταῖς δυναστείαις αὐτοῦ, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν κατὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῆς μεγαλωσύνης αὐτοῦ.

Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him according to the abundance of His greatness. [SAAS]

Ὕδωρ τὸ τῆς Πηγῆς, σωτήριον ὑπάρχει, πᾶσι τοῖς ἀσθενοῦσι· προσέλθωμεν οὖν πίστει, καὶ χάριν ἀρυσώμεθα.

Water drawn from this Spring * brings healing and salvation * to all who suffer illness. * So let us come with faith now and draw the grace of God from it. [SD]

Αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν ἤχῳ σάλπιγγος, αἰνεῖτε αὐτὸν ἐν ψαλτηρίῳ καὶ κιθάρᾳ.

Praise Him with the sound of trumpet; praise Him with the harp and lyre. [SAAS]

Φρέαρ τὸ ζωηρόν, Πηγῆς τῆς ἀθανάτου τοῖς προσιοῦσι πόθῳ, ἰάσεων παρέχει, πλημμυραν ἀνεξάντλητον.
