Bring my soul out of prison to give thanks to Your name, O Lord. [SAAS] |
Αὐτεξουσίως ἐξεδύθην, τῇ πρώτῃ μου παραβάσει, τῶν ἀρετῶν τὴν εὐπρέπειαν, ἠμφιασάμην δὲ ταύτην αὖθις, τῇ πρός με συγκαταβάσει σου Λόγε Θεοῦ· οὐ παρεῖδες γάρ με τὸν ἐν δεινοῖς παθήμασι καταστιχθέντα, καὶ λῃστρικῶς ὁδοπατηθέντα, ἀλλὰ τῇ παναλκεῖ σου δυναστείᾳ περιποιησάμενός με, ἀντιλήψεως ἠξίωσας Πολυέλεε. |
With my first transgression, of my own free will, I was stripped of the majesty of the virtues; but I have put it on again, because of Your condescension to me, O Logos of God. For You did not look away from me when I lay covered in terrible wounds, beaten by robbers on the road; but rather You took care of me with Your almighty power, and You granted me assistance, O very merciful Lord. [SD] |

The righteous shall wait for me, until You reward me. [SAAS] |

Μάρτυρες Κυρίου, πάντα τόπον ἁγιάζετε, καὶ πᾶσαν νόσον θεραπεύετε, καὶ νῦν πρεσβεύσατε, ῥυσθῆναι τῶν παγίδων τοῦ ἐχθροῦ, τὰς ψυχὰς ἡμῶν δεόμεθα. |
Martyrs of the Lord, you sanctify every locality, and you heal every infirmity. And now we pray you to intercede that our souls be delivered from the snares of the enemy. [SD] |

Γενηθήτω τὰ ὦτά σου προσέχοντα εἰς τὴν φωνὴν τῆς δεήσεώς μου. |
Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplication. [SAAS] |
Ἡλούμενος Κύριε Σταυρῷ, Ἀδὰμ τὸ χειρόγραφον, τῇ θείᾳ λόγχῃ διέῤῥηξας· διὸ διάῤῥηξον, τοὺς δεσμούς μου Λόγε, ὅπως σοι αἰνέσεως, θυσίαν θύσω πίστει γηθόμενος, καιρὸν εὐπρόσδεκτον, τῆς νηστείας νῦν εὐράμενος ὃν εἰς πάντων, σωτηρίαν ἔδειξας. |
O Lord, You were nailed on to the Cross * and were pierced, and thus by means of that divine spear tore up the bond on Adam. Therefore now * tear apart the shackles * that I wear, O Word of God, * that I in faith may joyfully offer You a sacrifice of praise, * having found Lent an acceptable * time, which You gave * to be for the salvation of all. [SD] |

Ἐὰν ἀνομίας παρατηρήσῃς, Κύριε Κύριε, τίς ὑποστήσεται; ὅτι παρὰ σοὶ ὁ ἱλασμός ἐστιν. |
If You, O Lord, should mark transgression, O Lord, who would stand? For there is forgiveness with You. [SAAS] |
Νηστείας λαμπρότητι ποτέ, Μωϋσῆς λαμπόμενος, Θεοῦ τὴν δόξαν τεθέαται, τοῦτον ζηλώσασα, ταπεινὴ ψυχή μου, τὸν Σταυρῷ τανύσαντα, παλάμας διὰ σὲ ἀγαθότητι, ἔργοις θεράπευσον, ἐγκρατείας καὶ δεήσεως, ὅπως τύχῃς, θείας ἀπολαύσεως. |
When Moses of old was shining bright * with the splendor of his fasting, he beheld the magnificence and glory of the Lord. * You, my humble soul, now * imitate him zealously, * and serve the One who for you was crucified in His benevolence * with your works of self-control and prayer, * so that you might * enjoy the divine rewards. [SD] |

Because of Your law, O Lord, I waited for You; my soul waited for Your word. My soul hopes in the Lord. [SAAS] |
Τὸν ζωοποιὸν προσκυνοῦντές σου Σταυρόν, τῆς ἀφράστου πρὸς ἡμᾶς σου, ἀμέτρου ἀγαθότητος Χριστέ, καὶ ἐν αὐτῷ φωτισθέντες τὰς ψυχάς, ἀνυμνοῦμέν σε ἀπαύστως, αἰτούμενοι εὐθύμως ἐν χαρᾷ, τελέσαι τὸ στάδιον τῆς Νηστείας, καὶ φθάσαι τὰ Πάθη σου ἀνυμνῆσαι, Κύριε, διʹ ὧν ἔσωσας ἡμᾶς. |
O Christ, as we venerate the life-giving Cross of Your inexpressible immense goodness towards us, and as our souls are illumined by it, we unceasingly extol You; and we pray that we may cheerfully finish the race of Lent with joy, and be able to extol Your Passion, by which You saved us, O Lord. [SD] |

Ἀπὸ φυλακῆς πρωΐας μέχρι νυκτός· ἀπὸ φυλακῆς πρωΐας ἐλπισάτω Ἰσραὴλ ἐπὶ τὸν Κύριον. |
From the morning watch until night; from the morning watch until night, let Israel hope in the Lord. [SAAS] |
Ὅλος, ἀνακείμενος θερμῶς, ὅλῃ τῇ ψυχῇ συνημμένος, τῷ παντεπόπτῃ Θεῷ, θείους ἐγεώργησας καρποὺς τοῦ Πνεύματος, ἡσυχίαν ἐγκράτειαν, ἀγάπην ἐλπίδα, τὴν μακροθυμίαν τε, καὶ τὴν πραότητα, δρόμον, πρὸς τὴν ἄνω πορείαν, πίστιν καὶ χρηστότητα Πάτερ, μεγαλοπρεπῶς ἐπιδεικνύμενος. |
Wholly to our God who sees all things * earnestly were you dedicated, wholly united in soul. * Thus you cultivated and brought forth divine good fruits * of the Spirit, like self-control * and stillness and meekness, * patience and long-suffering, and most of all hope and love, * grandly demonstrating, O Father, * that along with these faith and kindness * are the means of progress on the higher path. [SD] |
Ὅτι παρὰ τῷ Κυρίῳ τὸ ἔλεος καὶ πολλὴ παρʼ αὐτῷ λύτρωσις, καὶ αὐτὸς λυτρώσεται τὸν Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ πασῶν τῶν ἀνομιῶν αὐτοῦ. |
For with the Lord there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption; and He shall redeem Israel from all his transgressions. [SAAS] |

Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles; praise Him, all you peoples. [SAAS] |
Χάρις ἡ τοῦ Πνεύματος ἐν σοί, ὡς καθαρωτάτῳ καὶ πράῳ κατασκηνώσασα, πᾶσι κατεκόσμησεν ἀρετῆς εἴδεσι, καὶ ποικίλοις χαρίσμασιν, ἐλάμπρυνε Πάτερ· ὅθεν καὶ γεώργιον, Χριστοῦ φερώνυμον, ὤφθης γεωργήσας ἐμφρόνως, αὔλακας τῆς σῆς διανοίας, ἀξιομακάριστε Γεώργιε. |
When the Holy Spirit’s grace abode * in you, who were most pure and gentle, it made you beautiful * with all kinds of virtues; and with many spiritual gifts, * holy Father, it made you shine. * And you, like your name means, * showed yourself to be a farmer of the Savior Christ, * for you prudently cultivated * your mind, which did prove to be good earth, * O St. George. And we now rightly call you blest. [SD] |
Ὅτι ἐκραταιώθη τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ ἐφʼ ἡμᾶς, καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια τοῦ Κυρίου μένει εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. |
For His mercy rules over us; and the truth of the Lord endures forever. [SAAS] |
Χαίρων, τῶν μελλόντων ἀγαθῶν, Πάτερ τῇ ἐλπίδι τοὺς πόνους, ῥᾷον ὑπήνεγκας, πρόθυμος τοῖς ἔμπροσθεν ἐπεκτεινόμενος, τῶν ὀπίσω δὲ πάνσοφε, ποιούμενος λήθην, ἕως τὸ μακάριον, τέλος κατέλαβες, πλήρης ἀρετῶν ἐργασίαις, καὶ μακαριότητος θείας, Ὅσιε Γεώργιε τετύχηκας. |
Father, you were joyful in the hope * of the future blessings, and therefore you easily endured * labors, and you eagerly pressed forward, striving the more, * while forgetting what came before, * until you securely * had obtained the blessed end, for which you longed day and night, * full of works of virtue, all-wise one, * O devout St. George, and attained to * everlasting blessedness with God on high. [SD] |

Θρήνοις κοπτομένη ἡ ἀμνάς, δάκρυσι πικροῖς τε τὰς ὄψεις, καταῤῥαντίζουσα, ξύλῳ ἐνητένιζε Σταυροῦ ἡ ἄμεμπτος, καὶ τὰς χεῖρας ἐκτείνουσα, Υἱέ μου, ἐβόα, ποῦ νῦν ἀπελεύσομαι; τίνα καλέσω Υἱόν; οἴμοι! πῶς μεμόνωμαι τέκνον! πῶς δέ μου τὸ φῶς ἠμαυρώθη! ῥάγητε τὰ σπλάγχνα καὶ σπαράχθητε. |
Anguished was the Mother of the Lamb, * as she wet her face with the bitter and burning tears that she wept. * Looking at Cross, on which her Son was crucified, * she extended her hands to Him, * and cried out, “My Child, * where am I to go now? Whom am I to call my son? * Woe is me! I feel so alone now. * The light of my eyes has been darkened!” * Grieving, let the hearts of all go out to her. [GOASD] |

Gladsome light of holy glory of the holy, blessed, heavenly, immortal Father, O Jesus Christ: arriving at the hour of sunset and having seen the evening light, we praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, God. It is worthy for You to be praised at all times with happy voices, O Son of God and Giver of life; * and therefore the world glorifies You. |

Εἶπε Κύριος· Κραυγὴ Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόῤῥας πεπλήθυνται πρός με· καὶ αἱ ἁμαρτίαι αὐτῶν μεγάλαι σφόδρα. Καταβὰς οὖν ὄψομαι, εἰ κατὰ τὴν κραυγὴν αὐτῶν τὴν ἐρχομένην πρός με, συντελοῦνται· εἰ δὲ μή, ἵνα γνῷ. Καὶ ἀποστρέψαντες ἐκεῖθεν οἱ ἄνδρες, ἦλθον εἰς Σόδομα· Ἀβραὰμ δὲ ἔτι ἦν ἑστηκὼς ἔναντι Κυρίου. Καὶ ἐγγίσας Ἀβραάμ, εἶπε· Μὴ συναπολέσῃς δίκαιον μετὰ ἀσεβοῦς, καὶ ἔσται ὁ δίκαιος ὡς ὁ ἀσεβής· ἐὰν ὦσι πεντήκοντα δίκαιοι ἐν τῇ πόλει, ἀπολεῖς αὐτούς; οὐκ ἀνήσεις πάντα τὸν τόπον ἕνεκεν τῶν πεντήκοντα δικαίων, ἐὰν ὦσιν ἐν αὐτῇ; Μηδαμῶς σὺ ποιήσῃς ὡς τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο, τοῦ ἀποκτεῖναι δίκαιον μετὰ ἀσεβοῦς, καὶ ἔσται ὁ δίκαιος ὡς ὁ ἀσεβής, μηδαμῶς. Ὁ κρίνων πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν, οὐ ποιήσεις κρίσιν; Εἶπε δὲ Κύριος· Ἐὰν εὕρω ἐν Σοδόμοις πεντήκοντα δικαίους ἐν τῇ πόλει, ἀφήσω πάντα τὸν τόπον διʼ αὐτούς. Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς Ἀβραάμ, εἶπε· Νῦν ἠρξάμην λαλῆσαι πρὸς τὸν Κύριόν μου· ἐγὼ δέ εἰμι γῆ καὶ σποδός. Ἐὰν δὲ ἐλαττονωθῶσιν οἱ πεντήκοντα δίκαιοι εἰς τεσσαρακονταπέντε, ἀπολεῖς, ἕνεκεν τῶν πέντε, πᾶσαν τὴν πόλιν; Καὶ εἶπεν· Οὐ μὴ ἀπολέσω, ἐὰν εὕρω ἐκεῖ τεσσαρακονταπέντε. Καὶ προσέθηκεν ἔτι λαλῆσαι πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ εἶπεν· Ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθῶσιν ἐκεῖ τεσσαράκοντα; Καὶ εἶπεν· Οὐ μὴ ἀπολέσω, ἕνεκεν τῶν τεσσαράκοντα. Καὶ εἶπε· Μήτι, Κύριε, ἐὰν λαλήσω ἔτι ἅπαξ; ἐὰν δὲ εὑρεθῶσιν ἐκεῖ δέκα; Καὶ εἶπεν· Οὐκ ἀπολέσω, ἕνεκεν τῶν δέκα. Ἀπῆλθε δὲ ὁ Κύριος, ὡς ἐπαύσατο λαλῶν τῷ Ἀβραάμ· καὶ Ἀβραὰμ ὑπέστρεψεν εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτοῦ. |
Then the Lord said, “The outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah has been completed, and their sins are exceedingly great. Therefore, I will go down now and see whether or not they are carrying out the outcry coming to Me concerning them.” Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom, but Abraham remained before the Lord. So Abraham drew near and said, “Would You also destroy the righteous with the ungodly? Suppose there were fifty righteous within the city; would You also destroy the place and not spare it for the fifty righteous in it? Far be it from You to do such a thing as this, to slay the righteous with the wicked , that the righteous should be as the wicked; far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” Then the Lord said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.” So Abraham answered and said, “Indeed now, I who am but dust and ashes have taken it upon myself to speak to the Lord: But suppose there were five less than the fifty righteous; would You destroy all of the city for lack of five?” He replied, “If I find there forty-five, I will not destroy it.” Again he spoke to Him and said, “But suppose there should be forty found there?” So He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of forty.” Then he said, “Let not the Lord be offended, and I will speak: Suppose thirty should be found there?” So He said, “I would not destroy it if I should find thirty there.” Again he said, “Since I have permission to speak to the Lord, suppose twenty should be found there?” So He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of twenty.” Then he said, “Let not the Lord be offended, and I will speak but once more, suppose ten should be found there?” So He said, “I would not destroy it for the sake of the ten.” So the Lord went His way as soon as He finished speaking with Abraham; and Abraham returned to his place. The Priest holds a lit candle in his right hand with the censer hanging below it, stands before the holy Table, gestures crosswise and says: |

Καὶ στραφεὶς πρὸς τὸν λαὸν καὶ εὐλογῶν αὐτὸν σταυροειδῶς διὰ τῆς λαμπάδος λέγει· |
Then he turns to face the people, blesses them crosswise with the candle, and says: |

Ὁ δεχόμενος παιδείαν, ἐν ἀγαθοῖς ἔσται, ὁ δὲ φυλάσσων ἐλέγχους, σοφισθήσεται. Ὃς φυλάσσει τὰς ἑαυτοῦ ὁδούς, τηρεῖ τὴν ἑαυτοῦ ψυχήν, ἀγαπῶν δὲ ζωὴν αὐτοῦ, φείσεται στόματος αὐτοῦ. Πρὸ συντριβῆς ἠγεῖται ὕβρις, πρὸ δὲ πτώματος κακοφροσύνη. Κρείσσων πραΰθυμος μετὰ ταπεινώσεως, ἢ ὃς διαιρεῖται σκῦλα μετὰ ὑβριστῶν. Συνετὸς ἐν πράγμασιν εὑρετὴς ἀγαθῶν, πεποιθὼς δὲ ἐπὶ τῷ Κυρίῳ μακαριστός. Τοὺς σοφοὺς καὶ συνετούς, φαύλους καλοῦσιν, οἱ δὲ γλυκεῖς ἐν λόγῳ, πλείονα ἀκούσονται. Πηγὴ ζωῆς ἔννοια τοῖς κεκτημένοις, παιδεία δὲ ἀφρόνων κακή. Καρδία σοφοῦ νοήσει τὰ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἰδίου στόματος, ἐπὶ δὲ χείλεσι φορέσει ἐπιγνωμοσύνην. Κηρία μέλιτος λόγοι καλοί, γλύκασμα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἴασις ψυχῆς. Εἰσὶν ὁδοί, δοκοῦσαι ὀρθαὶ εἶναι ἀνδρί, τὰ μέντοι τελευταῖα αὐτῶν βλέπει εἰς πυθμένα ᾍδου. Ἀνὴρ ἐν πόνοις πονεῖ ἑαυτῷ, καὶ ἐκβιάζεται τὴν ἀπώλειαν ἑαυτοῦ. Ὁ μέντοι σκολιὸς ἐπὶ τῷ ἑαυτοῦ στόματι φορεῖ τὴν ἀπώλειαν. Ἀνὴρ ἄφρων ὀρύσσει ἑαυτῷ κακά, ἐπὶ δὲ τῶν ἑαυτοῦ χειλέων θησαυρίζει πῦρ. Ἀνὴρ σκολιὸς διαπέμπεται κακά, καὶ λαμπτῆρα δόλου πυρσεύει κακοῖς, καὶ διαχωρίζει φίλους. Ἀνὴρ παράνομος ἀποπειρᾶται φίλων, καὶ ἀπάγει αὐτούς εἰς ὁδοὺς οὐκ ἀγαθάς, στηρίζων δὲ ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ, λογίζεται διεστραμμένα, ἐπιδάκνων δὲ τοῖς χείλεσιν αὐτοῦ, ὁρίζει πάντα τὰ κακά, οὗτος κάμινός ἐστι κακίας. Στέφανος καυχήσεως γῆρας, ἐν δὲ ὁδοῖς δικαιοσύνης εὑρίσκεται. Κρείσσων ἀνὴρ μακρόθυμος, ἰσχυροῦ. Ὁ δὲ κρατῶν ὀργῆς, κρείσσων τοῦ καταλαμβανομένου πόλιν. Εἰς κόλπους ἐπέρχεται πάντα τοῖς ἀδίκοις, παρὰ δὲ Κυρίου πάντα τὰ δίκαια. Κρείσσων ψωμὸς μεθʹ ἡδονῆς ἐν εἰρήνῃ ἢ οἶκος πλήρης πολλῶν ἀγαθῶν, καὶ ἀδίκων θυμάτων μετὰ μάχης. Οἰκέτης νοήμων κρατήσει δεσποτῶν ἀφρόνων, ἐν δὲ ἀδελφοῖς διελεῖται μέρη. Ὥσπερ δοκιμάζεται ἐν καμίνῳ ἄργυρος καὶ χρυσός, οὕτως ἐκλεκταὶ καρδίαι παρὰ Κυρίῳ. Κακὸς ὑπακούει γλώσσης παρανόμων, δίκαιος δὲ οὐ προσέχει χείλεσι ψευδέσιν. Ὁ καταγελῶν πτωχοῦ, παροξύνει τὸν ποιήσαντα αὐτόν. Ὁ δὲ ἐπιχαίρων ἀπολλυμένῳ, οὐκ ἀθωωθήσεται. Ὁ δὲ ἐπισπλαγχνιζόμενος ἐλεηθήσεται. Στέφανος γερόντων, τέκνα τέκνων, καύχημα δὲ τέκνων, πατέρες αὐτῶν. Τοῦ πιστοῦ ὅλος ὁ κόσμος τῶν χρημάτων, τοῦ δὲ ἀπίστου οὐδὲ ὀβολός. Οὐχ ἁρμόσει ἄφρονι πιστά, οὐδὲ δικαίῳ χείλη ψευδῆ. Μισθὸς χαρίτων, ἡ παιδεία τοῖς χρωμένοις, οὗ δʹ ἂν ἐπιστρέψῃ, εὐοδωθήσεται. Ὃς κρύπτει ἀδικήματα, ζητεῖ φιλίαν· ὃς δὲ μισεῖ κρύπτειν, διΐστησι φίλους καὶ οἰκείους. Συντρίβει ἀπειλὴ καρδίαν φρονίμου, ἄφρων δὲ μαστιγωθείς, οὐκ αἰσθάνεται. Ἀντιλογίας ἐγείρει πᾶς κακός. Ὁ δὲ Κύριος ἄγγελον ἀνελεήμονα ἐκπέμψει αὐτῷ. Ἐμπεσεῖται μέριμνα ἀνδρὶ νοήμονι, οἱ δὲ ἄφρονες διαλογιοῦνται κακά. Ὃς ἀποδίδωσι κακὰ ἀντὶ ἀγαθῶν, οὐ κινηθήσεται κακὰ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ. Ἐξουσίαν δίδωσι λόγοις ἀρχὴ δικαιοσύνης, προηγεῖται δὲ τῆς ἐνδείας στάσις καὶ μάχη. Ὃς δίκαιον κρίνει τὸν ἄδικον, ἄδικον δὲ τὸν δίκαιον, ἀκάθαρτος καὶ βδελυκτὸς παρὰ Θεῷ. Ἵνα τί ὑπῆρξε χρήματα ἄφρονι; κτήσασθαι γὰρ σοφίαν ἀκάρδιος οὐ δυνήσεται. Ὃς ὑψηλὸν ποιεῖ τὸν ἑαυτοῦ οἶκον, ζητεῖ συντριβήν. Ὁ δὲ σκολιάζων τοῦ μαθεῖν, ἐμπεσεῖται εἰς κακά. Εἰς πάντα καιρὸν φίλος ὑπαρχέτω σοι, ἀδελφοὶ δὲ ἐν ἀνάγκαις χρήσιμοι ἔστωσαν. |
He who receives instruction shall be in good things, and he who heeds rebukes shall become wise; he who guards his own ways shall keep his own soul, and he who loves his life shall use his mouth sparingly. Arrogance goes before destruction and folly before a fall. A gentle mind with humility is better than he who divides spoils with the arrogant. A man wise in his deeds is a discoverer of good things, but he who trusts in God is the most blessed. Men call the wise and understanding worthless, but those pleasing in speech will increase in understanding. Understanding is a fountain of life to those who possess it, but the instruction of those without discernment is evil. The heart of a wise man shall understand the things from his own mouth, and he shall carry knowledge upon his lips. Good words are a honeycomb, and their sweetness is a healing of the soul. There are ways that seem right to a man; however, their ends look to the depths of Hades. A man labors diligently for himself and expels destruction from himself; however, a perverse man carries destruction on his lips. A man without discernment digs up evil things for himself and stores up fire on his own lips. A perverse man spreads evil things, and a torch of deceit kindles evils and separates friends. A lawless man makes a trial of friends and leads them in ways not good. A man sets his eyes to calculate perverse things and determines every evil thing with his lips; this man is a furnace of wickedness. Old age is a crown of dignity, but it is found in the ways of righteousness. A patient man is better than a strong man, and he who controls his temper is better than he who captures a city. All evil things come into the bosoms of the unrighteous, but all righteous things come from the Lord. Better is a morsel with enjoyment in peace than a house full of many good things and unrighteous sacrifices with quarreling. A servant with discernment shall rule over masters without discernment, and will divide portions among brethren. As silver and gold are tested in a furnace, so are chosen hearts before the Lord. An evil man heeds the tongue of the lawless, but a righteous man pays no attention to false lips. He who laughs at the poor provokes the One who made him, and he who rejoices in destruction will not be unpunished; but he who has compassion will be shown mercy. The crown of old men is children of children, and the boasting of children is their fathers. The entire world of goods belongs to the faithful, but to the faithless, not even a penny. Faithful lips will not adapt to a man without discernment, nor lying lips to a righteous man. Instruction awards benefits to those using it, and wherever it turns, it prospers them. He who hides wrongdoings seeks love, but he who hates to cover them will separate friends and close relatives. A threat breaks the heart of a man with discernment, but a man without discernment, though flogged, has no perception. Every evil man stirs up controversy, but the Lord will send him a merciless messenger. Care will befall a thoughtful man, but men without discernment devise evil things. He who repays evil for good, evil will not be removed from his house. The foundation of righteousness gives authority to words, but discord and quarreling precede poverty. He who judges the unrighteous as righteous, and the righteous as unrighteous, he is unclean and abominable before God. Why do goods belong to a man without discernment? For a heartless man is unable to gain wisdom. He who makes his own house lofty seeks destruction, and the one who turns away from learning will fall into evils. Let a friend be with you on every occasion. [SAAS] |
