Λίαν πρωΐ, Μυροφόροι ἔδραμον, πρὸς τὸ μνῆμά σου θρηνολογοῦσαι· ἀλλʼ ἐπέστη, πρὸς αὐτὰς ὁ Ἄγγελος, καὶ εἶπε· θρήνου ὁ καιρὸς πέπαυται, μὴ κλαίετε, τὴν Ἀνάστασιν δέ, Ἀποστόλοις εἴπατε.	Very early in the morning, the myrrh-bearing women were hastening to Your tomb lamenting. But the Angel appeared to them and uttered, “The time for lamentation has ended; weep no more. Go announce the Resurrection to the Apostles.”

Μυροφόροι γυναῖκες, μετὰ μύρων ἐλθοῦσαι, πρὸς τὸ μνῆμά σου, Σῶτερ ἐνηχοῦντο. Ἀγγέλου τρανῶς, πρὸς αὐτὰς φθεγγομένου· Τί μετὰ νεκρῶν, τὸν ζώντα λογίζεσθε; ὡς Θεὸς γάρ, ἐξανέστη τοῦ μνήματος.	When the myrrh-bearing women had come with their spices to Your sepulcher, O Savior, they heard the voice of an Angel clearly speaking to them, “Why do you account among the dead the One who lives? For as God, He has risen from the sepulcher.”

Τῆς πατρῴας, δόξης σου, ἀποσκιρτήσας ἀφρόνως, ἐν κακοῖς ἐσκόρπισα, ὃν μοι παρέδωκας πλοῦτον· ὅθεν σοι τὴν τοῦ Ἀσώτου, φωνὴν κραυγάζω· Ἥμαρτον ἐνώπιόν σου Πάτερ οἰκτίρμον, δέξαι με μετανοοῦντα, καὶ ποίησόν με, ὡς ἕνα τῶν μισθίων σου.	I revolted senselessly * out of Your fatherly glory; * I have squandered sinfully * all of the riches You gave me.* Hence to You, using the Prodigal’s words, I cry out,* I have sinned before You, merciful loving Father.* O receive me in repentance, * I pray, and treat me * as one of Your hired hands. Τοῦ Σωτῆρος ἡμῶν καθʼ ἑκάστην διδάσκοντος διʼ οἰκείας φωνῆς, τῶν Γραφῶν ἀκουσώμεθα, περὶ τοῦ Ἀσώτου καὶ σώφρονος πάλιν, καὶ τούτου πίστει ἐκμιμησώμεθα τὴν καλὴν μετάνοιαν, τῷ κατιδόντι πάντα τὰ κρύφια μετὰ ταπεινῆς καρδίας κράξωμεν· Ἡμάρτομέν σοι Πάτερ οἰκτίρμον, καὶ οὐκ ἐσμὲν ἄξιοι ποτέ, κληθῆναι τέκνα ὡς πρίν. Ἀλλʼ ὡς φύσει ὑπάρχων φιλάνθρωπος, σὺ προσδέχου, καὶ ποίησόν με, ὡς ἕνα τῶν μισθίων σου.	Let us listen to the Scriptures, as our Savior teaches us each day in His own words, about the prodigal son who returned to his senses. Let us imitate his genuine repentance with faith, and with a humble heart cry out to the Lord who sees all our secrets. “We have sinned against You, compassionate Father, and we are no longer worthy as before to be called Your children. But I implore You, who are by nature benevolent, welcome me back, and treat me as one of Your hired hands.” [GOASD]

Let us extol, as omnipotent God, the One who rose on the third day; for He smashed the gates of Hades, and He raised from their graves the dead from all time. As He wished He was seen by the Myrrh-bearing Women, to whom first He exclaimed, “Rejoice!” thus saying declaring to His Apostles the joy, as the only Giver of Life. Then the women in good faith bring good news of the proof of the victory to the Disciples. But Hades groans, and Death laments. The world exults, and everyone celebrates, O Christ, for You have granted resurrection to all! [GOASD]
