Let us the faithful praise the holy apostle Timothy, ⁄ the companion of Paul in his travels ⁄ and together with him let us honor the wise Anastasius, ⁄⁄ who came as a star from Persia for the healing of our souls’ passions and our bodies’ disease! [OCA]

The great Apostle Paul, that most experienced fisher of men, once let out the nets of grace, and he pulled in Timothy the preacher of God, a holy catch. Together they went all over the world, and from the mouth of the devil they snatched all who received the word of the Faith. Among them was brave Anastasios, who, having believed, renounced all the error of the Persians and bore the name of Christ on his shoulders. And now, by grace he drives away from us our souls’ passions and our bodies’ disease!. [SD]

On January 22 we commemorate the holy Apostle Timothy, disciple of the holy Apostle Paul.

On this day we also commemorate the holy devout martyr Anastasios of Persia.

Strengthen Your Church, and grant success to our government, as You did long ago to Constantine, in Your abundant mercy, Ο benevolent God. [GOASD]

Verse: We were filled with Your mercy in the morning, and in all our days we greatly rejoiced and were glad; gladden us in return for the days You humbled us, for the years we saw evil things. And behold Your servants and Your works, and guide their sons. [SAAS]

O Lord, Your medal-winning Martyrs imitated the angelic orders, by enduring the tortures as if they themselves were also bodiless. There singular hope was to obtain the promised blessings. At their intercession, grant peace to Your world, and great mercy to our souls, O Christ our God. [SD]
