For the Martyrs.

Mode pl. 2. When the angelic powers.

Ἀγγελικαὶ Δυνάμεις.

The martyr athletes offered resistance in the ring, * contesting for the faith, and the tyrants tortured them. * The hosts of Incorporeals observed and were holding the victory medals. * The truly wise contestants amazed the tyrants and kings. * They overturned the devil by their confession of Christ. * O Lord, who strengthened them, glory to You. [SD]

Verse: God is wondrous in His saints. [SAAS]

The holy athletes endured the contest, and they received from You the medals of victory. They destroyed the machinations of the lawless, and they received the crowns of incorruption. Through them, O God, save our souls. [SD]

Verse: To the saints on His earth, in them He magnified all His will. [SAAS]

O Lord, the memory of Your Saints is like the Garden of Eden, for all creation greatly rejoices in it. Grant us peace and great mercy, by their intercessions. [SD]

O Lord, who called the blessed Maid Your Mother, You came to the Passion of Your own will and intent. Adam You wished to seek; You therefore shone upon the Cross, saying to the Angels, “Rejoice with me together, for I have found the coin that was lost.” O Lord, You have disposed all things wisely. For the Martyrs.

Mode pl. 2.

Light always dawns for the righteous. The saints were illumined in You, and they shine like stars forever, and they extinguish the lamp of the impious. By their prayers, You will light my lamp, O Lord, and save me. [SD]

Verse: Blessed are they whom You have chosen and received, O Lord. [SAAS]

For the Dead.

Everything is truly vanity, and earthly life is a shadow and a dream. Every man stirs himself up in vain, as the Scripture says. Once we gain the world, then we attain the grave, where kings and poor dwell together. Therefore, O Christ God, grant rest to those who have passed away, since You are benevolent. [SD]

Mode pl. 2. You are the good hope.

Ἐλπὶς τοῦ κόσμου ἀγαθή.

You are for us who are on earth * a powerful protection, * as the one who in time gave birth * in the flesh to the timeless * Son and Logos of God, O Mary Mother of God. * Now as His Mother pray * to Him in earnest with the saints, * the Martyrs and the Prophets * and the ascetic Saints, * to save those who have departed. The holy Martyrs and brave soldiers of Christ, Probos, Tarachos, and Andronicos, rebuked all the godlessness of the tyrants, and they displayed to us the glory of the Trinity, when they valiantly contested for the faith. [un]

Oikos.

The wise Martyrs Tarachos, Probos and Andronicos valiantly imitated the Passion of Jesus, when they were led into the stadium rejoicing; and they rebuked the godlessness of the lawless. Therefore with longing we honor their memory, and extol them with hymns of praise, and faithfully proclaim their feats; for the Lord has made them wondrous, like stars in the world, for they valiantly contested for the faith. [un]

On October 12 we commemorate the holy Martyrs Probus, Tarachus, and Andronicus.

On this day we also commemorate the holy victorious Martyr Domnina.

On this day we also commemorate the holy Martyr Anastasia the Virgin.

The holy seventy Martyrs died by the sword.

Saint Theodotos, Bishop of Ephesos, died in peace.

The holy Martyrs Malphetha, Anthia, and the Martyrs Juventinus, Maximus, Andromachos, and Diodoros, died by the sword and by fire.

Saint Jason, Bishop of Damascus, died in peace.

By their holy intercessions, O Christ our God, have mercy on us. Amen.

We praise and we bless and we worship the Lord.

The Martyrs endured many kinds of torture, and they were rewarded with many medals and awards by Christ the Savior for their victories. As we honor these steadfast athletes, godly-minded Tarachos, Andronicos, and Probos, and observe their sacred memory, they intercede for us, and they pray that we be freed of our sins. [un]

O Lady Theotokos, come quickly in your almighty power and rescue me, for I am being tossed about in an ocean of sins and a storm of passions; and guide me to the harbor of repentance, so that I may glorify your Son, whom you bore ineffably, and also reverently magnify you, the Mother of God. [un]

Mode 4.

When you became soldiers of Christ, you left behind the delights of the earth. You took up the Cross on your shoulders, and through many tortures you followed after Him. Since you did not deny Him before many kings and tyrants, you received the prizes of victory by the hands of the Angels. Then with heads crowned, with boldness of soul, and beaming with joy, you entered together into the great bridal hall. O Probos, the glory of the Martyrs, and Tarachos, the destroyer of demons, and Andronicos, the victory of the believers, since you have access to the Savior, intercede with Him on behalf of our souls. [un]

Ἔδωκας σημείωσιν.

O all-blameless Virgin Mother, change the frivolous character * of my soul and its feebleness * to strength and empowerment,* to perform the statutes * and all the commandments of Christ with fear and love of God, * that I be spared from the unbearable fire, * and also be an heir of heaven and receive everlasting life, * all through you, O all-holy one, * and be happy forevermore.
