Ὁ λῃστὴς ἐν τῷ Σταυρῷ, Θεὸν εἶναί σε πιστεύσας Χριστέ, ὡμολόγησέ σε εἰλικρινῶς ἐκ καρδίας. Μνήσθητί μου Κύριε βοῶν, ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ σου. Ὡς ἐδικαίωσας Χριστέ, τὴν Πόρνην κλαύσασαν ἐξ ὅλης ψυχῆς, οὕτω Δέσποτα, καὶ ἐμὲ ἀπογνόντα, ἀπὸ πάσης ῥῦσαι ἀγαθέ, κολάσεως δέομαι.	O Christ, that harlot of old * wholeheartedly repented and she wept, * and You justified her. O good Master, now likewise * rescue me, dejected as I am, * from punishment and hell, I pray. [SD]
Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.	Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]
Τὸν προδραμόντα τοῦ Χριστοῦ, καὶ ἑτοιμάσαντα ὁδοὺς ἀγαθάς, μακαρίσωμεν Ἰωάννην συμφώνως, ὅπως τούτου θείαις προσευχαῖς, πταισμάτων ῥυσθείημεν.	Let us together now extol * St. John the Baptist and Forerunner of Christ, * who prepared favorable ways for the Master, * so that from our sins we might be freed * through his holy prayers for us. The Lord said, “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For the measure you give will be the measure you get back.” He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above his teacher, but every one when he is fully taught will be like his teacher. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother’s eye. Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.	It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

Εἴδομεν τὸ φῶς τὸ ἀληθινόν, ἐλάβομεν Πνεῦμα ἐπουράνιον, εὓρομεν πίστιν ἀληθῆ, ἀδιαίρετον Τριάδα προσκυνοῦντες· αὕτη γὰρ ἡμᾶς ἔσωσεν.	We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, the holy Apostle Ananias, and our devout father Romanos the Melodist, whose memory we observe, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
