Ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου μνήσθητι ἡμῶν Κύριε, ὅταν ἔλθῃς ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου. Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοὶ τῷ πνεύματι, ὅτι αὐτῶν ἐστιν ἡ Βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν.	In Your kingdom. Remember us, O Lord, when You come in Your kingdom. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven [RSV]
Μακάριοι οἱ πενθοῦντες, ὅτι αὐτοὶ παρακληθήσονται.	Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. [RSV]

Μακάριοι οἱ εἰρηνοποιοί, ὅτι αὐτοὶ Υἱοὶ Θεοῦ κληθήσονται.	Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. [RSV]
Διὰ βρώσεως ἐξήγαγε, τοῦ Παραδείσου ὁ ἐχθρὸς τὸν Ἀδάμ, διὰ Σταυροῦ δὲ τὸν λῃστήν, ἀντεισήγαγε Χριστὸς ἐν αὐτῷ. Μνήσθητί μου κράζοντα, ὅταν ἔλθῃς ἐν τῇ Βασιλείᾳ σου.	Then the foe used eating from the tree * to get Adam banished from Paradise. * Now crucified upon a tree, * Christ allowed the Robber enter it, * when he said: Remember me * when You come in Your kingdom, O Lord. Κατανύξεως πηγήν μοι δώρησαι, τῇ εὐσπλαγχνίᾳ σου, Χριστὲ ὁ Θεός, παντός με ῥύπου τῶν κακῶν, τῶν ἀμέτρων ἐκκαθαίρουσαν, καὶ τῆς βασιλείας σου, εὐεργέτα, μέτοχόν με ποίησον.	In You mercy, give me springs of tears * and of compunction, O Christ my God, * to wash away all the filth * of the countless sins and vices in me; * and let me participate * in Your kingdom, O great Benefactor and Lord. Μακάριοι ἐστὲ ὅταν ὀνειδίσωσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ διώξωσι, καὶ εἴπωσι πᾶν πονηρὸν ῥῆμα καθʼ ὑμῶν, ψευδόμενοι ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ.	Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely [for my sake]. [RSV]
Τῶν Ἀγγέλων σου τὰ τάγματα, εἰς ἱκεσίαν σοι κινοῦμεν Χριστέ, σῶσον οἰκτείρησον ἡμᾶς, διʼ αὐτῶν ὡς ὑπεράγαθος, πάντα παρορῶν ἡμῶν, τὰ ἐν γνώσει, καὶ ἀγνοίᾳ πταίσματα.	We invoke the Angels’ regiments * to supplicate You on our behalf. * At their entreaties, save us all, * O exceeding gracious Christ our God, * overlooking all the sins * we committed in knowledge and in ignorance. Χαίρετε καὶ ἀγαλλιᾶσθε, ὅτι ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.	Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven. [RSV]

Τῶν αἱμάτων ὑμῶν, Ἅγιοι, τοῖς ὀχετοῖς τὸν νοητὸν Φαραώ, ἐναπεπνίξατε σαφῶς, νῦν δὲ βλύζετε θαυμάτων κρουνούς, πέλαγος ξηραίνοντας νοσημάτων· ὅθεν μακαρίζεσθε.	In the puddles of your blood, O Saints, * you drowned the devil as if Pharaoh of old, * O blessed Martyrs of the Lord. * Now you pour out your miracles * like a spring that dries the sea * of diseases; hence you are beatified. Ἡ τεκοῦσα φῶς τὸ ἄχρονον, ἐσκοτισμένην τὴν ψυχήν μου ἀεί, ταῖς τῶν δαιμόνων προσβολαῖς, φωταγώγησον, Πανάμωμε, καὶ πυρὸς τοῦ μέλλοντος, μεσιτείαις θείαις ἐλευθέρωσον.	As the one who bore the timeless Light, * ever illuminate and guide my soul * which is bedarkened through assaults * from the demons, O all-blameless Maid. * And by means of your divine * mediations free me from the future fire. A rule of faith are you, and an icon of gentleness, and a teacher of self-control. And to your flock this was evident, by the truth of your life and deeds. You were humble and therefore you acquired exalted gifts, treasure in heaven for being poor. Holy and devout Father John, intercede with Christ our God, and entreat Him to save our souls. [SD]

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because you shut the kingdom of heaven against men; for you neither enter yourselves, nor allow those who would enter to go in. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you traverse sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves. Woe to you, blind guides, who say, ‘If any one swears by the temple, it is nothing; but if any one swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’ You blind fools! For which is greater, the gold or the temple that has made the gold sacred? Ἄξιόν ἐστιν ὡς ἀληθῶς μακαρίζειν σε τὴν Θεοτόκον, τὴν ἀειμακάριστον καὶ παναμώμητον καὶ μητέρα τοῦ Θεοῦ ἡμῶν. Τὴν τιμιωτέραν τῶν Χερουβεὶμ καὶ ἐνδοξοτέραν ἀσυγκρίτως τῶν Σεραφείμ, τὴν ἀδιαφθόρως Θεὸν Λόγον τεκοῦσαν, τὴν ὄντως Θεοτόκον, σὲ μεγαλύνομεν.	It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God.
